Museum
The Modern Art Museum is at the entrance
to the village of
Sintra, quite close to the railway station.
It was built in 1920 and was initially Sintras Casino. Today is a
referenced cultural place at European level. It has a great Collection
of International Contemporaneous Art.
Inside you can visit the magnificent Berardo Collection that includes
Works of painting and sculpture of many artists. These last are
considered essential to understand the International Art History, due to
the presence of the main movements, fluids and artistic investigation
lines.
On the last floor the terrace of the Restaurant Cafeteria offers a
beautiful landscape over the Mountain range of Sintra and Pena Palace to
the visitors.
On the ground floor you may buy objects signed by international artists
and also the book and the postcards edited by the museum.
Museum Schedule:
From Tuesday to Sunday from 10a.m. to 6p.m.
Closed on Mondays
The Restaurant Cafeteria and the Museum Shop follow the same
Schedule).
