Saint
Lazarus
Chapel
It
was built at
São
Pedro de
Sintra
in the 15th century.
The story of this chapel was marked by the pain of the Queen
Leonor,
wife of João
II, when she lost her son. After the death of King Afonso, the Queen
ordered that a pelican and a fowling-net, symbols of the monarchs, were
to be engraved in the main nave.
This chapel is still today a place of religious devotion.
