Praia da Maçãs

Characteristics
This name is owed to the fact that in the past the river that ends in this beach used to pass through apple orchards. The fruit would fall in the water when it was ripe and would head to the beach. Many people go this beach; despite the small sand extension it is quite deep. It is an area of dunes.  

Infra-estruturas
It has W.C., showers, small bars, some restaurants and an ocean pool. There is also a market for fish, meat or vegetables.

Access
From the centre of the village of Sintra you take the direction to Colares. In the centre of Colares follow the sign that says Praia das Maçãs. Then it is a 3 to 4km drive.
